Why These Resources Are Here
California Senate Bill 939 (signed September 28, 2024) amended the California Education Code to strengthen protections for students who are neurodivergent or perceived as neurodivergent. The law expands statewide resource lists to include support for students experiencing discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or bullying based on actual or perceived neurodiversity.
As a local educational agency (LEA), El Camino Real Charter High School is required to make these resources clearly available to students, families, and staff. The links below are provided in compliance with California Education Code Section 234.5 and in alignment with our school's unwavering dedication to student well-being.

What Does Neurodivergent Mean?
Neurodivergent refers to students whose neurological development or functioning differs from what is considered typical. This can include — but is not limited to — students with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette syndrome, and other related conditions.
These protections also apply to students who are perceived as neurodivergent, regardless of a formal diagnosis. Bullying, harassment, or discrimination based on actual or perceived neurodiversity is prohibited and taken seriously at El Camino Real Charter High School.

Reporting & Support at ECR
If a student is experiencing bullying, harassment, or discrimination — including situations related to neurodiversity — we encourage them and their families to reach out to school staff right away. ECR takes all reports seriously and is committed to a prompt, caring response.
To report a concern or access support, please contact the ECR Counseling Office at counseling@ecrchs.net or speak with any trusted staff member on campus. You may also reach our main office at (818) 595-7500.
