Visual & Performing Arts
El Camino’s VAPA Academy is the artistic heart of the school.
All students at ECR have the opportunity to participate in the VAPA Academy with varying levels of intensity. Students can take our courses (including AP courses in Studio Art and Music Theory) and audition for award-winning performance groups.
Programs
Once students enter into the VAPA Academy, most choose a single emphasis. There are many VAPA programs to choose from, and some students choose to explore multiple options their freshmen year. Click on the links to find out more about each program.
Each grade level cohort focuses on one main aspect of the VAPA Anchor Standards – creating, doing, responding, and connecting. By their senior year, they will have earned recognition on their diplomas for their commitment to our academy.
